What is the best way to get legendary cards?

Is there anything different I should be doing other than challenges, opening my chests and hoping I get lucky? I could probably speed up the process with gems but don't really want to pay for them. I took a long break from the game so just want to make sure I didn't miss anything.

If you're in arena 10 or higher, you can buy them from the shop for 40,000 gold, but it's a tough path getting the gold.

Imo legendary cards are never worth 40k UNLESS you don't have the card and really want it badly, or you just need one more for an upgrade. Seriously, 40k for ONE card?! I guess for P2Ps it's not a big deal.

focus on upgrading single good legendary card. once maxed you can trade leggies for 20k gold only instead of 40k of shop.

The best way to get legendary cards is probably by buying the bonus rewards in global tournaments, sometimes they give you up to 3 legendary chests for 250-500 gems if you do well in them.

If you have the card levels to join a decent legendary clan, you can guarantee 2 legendary cards per season if the clan reaches 1st place at least once.

I'm not a fan of risking a legendary chest for a specific one. I'd always choose buying it in the shop first, but if op just wants to accumulate more then I agree with your suggestion.
